- <p> Why does a woman's ability to conceive drop after 40? Worn-out
- eggs, suggests a new report in the Journal of the American
- Medical Association. For women over 40 receiving egg implants,
- pregnancy rates were lower when the eggs were their own than
- when the eggs were donated by someone younger. But women with
- donated eggs had about the same fertility whether they were
- older than 40 or not.
